Newcastle owner Mike Ashley today issued an official statement setting a price for Newcastle, as Keith Harris, chairman of investment bankers Seymour Pierce, continued his search for buyers.

The statement reads:

“The board of Newcastle United can today confirm that the club is for sale at the price of £100million.”Interested parties should contact Newcastle United at admin@nufc.co.uk (or Keith Harris at Seymour Pierce) for further details.”The club will not be making any further comment at the present time.”

Mike Ashley is getting desperate to offload the club he bought for £134.4m in 2007. If you got an extra £100m to spend then reply to above email. However don’t take for granted that Alan Shearer, Micheal Owen or Obafemi Martins will stay on in your new Championship club.
